Six Dietary Tips for Good Oral Health

Dr. Elbert encourages his patients to follow healthy oral hygiene and diet habits.

Here are some healthy tips for you to follow:

  • Wait at least 30 minutes after eating or drinking anything before brushing as the enamel will be softened and you could be brushing away tiny particles.
  • Eat a varied diet that is rich in vitamins, minerals.
  • Fresh fruit and veggies can help prevent gum disease.
  • Finishing a meal with a cube of cheese is a great way to reduce the effect of acids from the foods damaging your teeth.
  • Avoid snacking on sugary foods and drinks.
  • Chew gum with xylitol as it can actively contribute to your oral health.

Lastly, we cannot underestimate the importance of visiting your dentist regularly.
